Smithdon High School Cluster News
Multiskill Festival In April the Smithdon Cluster saw it's first Multiskill festival for Key Stage one students take place at Premier Raquets, Sedgeford. Over 100 Year two students attended the event each experiencing activities in SAQ, Balance, Hockey, Tennis, Football and Basketball. Thesessions were delivered by Premier Raquet staff and the students attending represented the following schools: King George, Bircham, Sedgeford, Glebe House, Dersingham Infant, Flitcham, Brancaster and Hunstanton Infant. The success of this first venture will now ensure that it becomes an annual event on the cluster calendar. ![]() Congratulations To St Georges Junior and Flitcham Primary Tag Rugby squads who have both qualified for the County Finals on Monday 19th May. We wish them both the best of luck. ![]() Year 2 and 3/4 Football Festival A wet and windy evening at Smithdon High School saw eight schools taking part in this year's festival. Players from Glebe House, Dersingham Infant and Snettisham were integrated into three squads for the Year 2 festival while teams from Redgate, St Georges, Heacham Junior, Snettisham, Glebe House and Brancaster competed for the Year 3/4 trophy. Credit must go to all players who braved the elements to provide some highly entertaining play. The outright winners were Redgate Junior school from Hunstanton.
On 18th March our cluster Netball tournament took place at Smithdon High school. Eight schools competed in the new Hi5 format which produced some very competitive and closely fought matches. Many thanks go to the students from Smithdon who umpired the matches in a very professional manner. The eventual winners were Redgate Junior School who then went on to represent the cluster at the Partnership Finals. Cross Country Competition On Saturday 15th March we held our annual Cross Country Competition on the Sandringham Estate. The conditions were superb and as a result the races ran smoothly with some outstanding runners on display. The team and individual results are listed below: Boys Year 2 1st - Glebe - 6 points 2nd - Dersingham Infant School - 29 points 3rd - Flitcham Primary - 30 points Winner - Tom Sowerby (Glebe) Year 3/4 1st - St Georges - 12 points 2nd - Redgate Junior - 23 points 3rd - Glebe - 28 points Winner - Year 4 - Macson Heath / Year 3 - Aaron Havell (docking) (5th) Year 5/6 1st - Redgate Junior - 15 points (their team member came first therefore there team come first) 2nd - Glebe - 15 points 3rd - Docking - 27 points Winner - Year 5 - Thomas Middleton (st georges) / Year 6 - Josh Fields (redgate) Girls Year 2 1st - Glebe - 13 points 2nd - Sandringham - 27 points 3rd Snettisham - 30 points Winner - Lauren Parsons (snettisham) Year 3/4 1st - St Georges - 15 points 2nd - Glebe - 20 points 3rd - Flitcham - 29 points Winner - Year 3 - Danielle Middleton (st georges) / Year 4 - Amy Bullough (snettisham) Year 5/6 1st - Heacham - 25 points 2nd - St Georges - 27 points 3rd - Docking - 34 points Winner - Year 5 - Laura Berns (glebe) / Year 6 - Winonna Lee (St Georges) First Steps Netball This was an experimental festival to introduce Year 2 and Year 3/4 students to the fundamentals of Netball through a fun festival. Students were placed into mixed school squads and matches were umpired by senior Smithdon students. KLAS-A Academy A number of students from KES and Smithdon have been attending the KLAS-A Academy at The Shed indoor skatepark at Lynnsport. ![]() |
