St Clement's Supports Paralympic Bid for Gold
Students from St Clement's High School have had the unique opportunity to support the Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby Team as they prepare to compete in the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games. The team are currently training in King's Lynn and offered to show students how the game is played, along with the high levels of skill and stamina needed to participate at world class level.

Students and staff were amazed at the speed the wheelchairs move and the amount of tackling which goes on. Amy Cordy, 15, said "I can't believe how fast they go. I had no idea you could even play rugby in a wheelchair, they are so strong pushing the chairs around and playing at the same time."

Cath Bank, Assistant Headteacher, said "This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to be inspired by a sport that most of them had never watched before today. At St Clement's High we do a significant amount of work for our Disability Equality Duty and this is a great way to be able to promote the achievements of disabled people. Students and staff wish all the Paralympic and Olympic athletes every success and will be closely following their progress as they head to Beijing."
